Extreme Couponing- Dumpster Diving for Coupons

So as you guys know we recently made a big move 3 hours away from our family for my hubby to start a new career. It gave him a pay rate raise but what we didn't take into account was insurance. We took into account that he would get insurance not that it would cost us $450 a month!!! So we are at this point actually making a little less then we were back home. It will change but I have been looking for ways to save. I saw the crazy coupon ladies on Nate Burkis and I looked up their sight and they were talking about dumpster diving for coupons. I looked it up and didn't think that it meant DUMPSTER DIVING FOR COUPONS lol. I love the part when she gets home and her husband is like "let me get this straight you , your pregnant Friend, and my son were in the dumpster today lmbo. I love it!!

Now I don't know that I will be climbing in dumpsters but I am going to give extreme couponing a try. :) I will take you guys along on the journey and I can't guarantee that I am going to get the results they did ($400 some odd dollars down to like $37 ) But I am going to make it my goal to save as much as I can. I do pretty well spending $150 every two weeks for a family of four but I am going to see just how low I can get that :) Some other ways that I have found to save money are instead of paying $40 a month on Internet I dropped that company added a home phone (which I haven't had in years we do all cell) which has free long distance and Internet with my cable and they are FREE for what I was paying for cable alone for one year!! So then I also dropped my cell plan to the lowest minutes saving me $20 a month. So that is $60 a month savings.

Now Since we have such a huge cable package now I haven't been watching my netflix at all there is always something sitting on my dvr to be watched I dropped our netflix. That saves us $23 a month. And we aren't crazy about our gym here in town and have only gone once since we moved so we are dropping that (I know sad seeing as I went 3-5 times a week before our move) but that saves us another 60 a month. One more thing was re shopping car insurance now that we moved. We are saving another $25 a month there. So if you were doing the math with me that is $168 a month in savings!!! So we will see what else we can save on our next grocery trip this weekend.
