4th of July nails

If you guys follow me on Instagram you know that for about a year-and-a-half now I have been obsessed with impressed press on nails. I've been using them pretty much non-stop for a year-and-a-half. They're easy to put on very cute inexpensive and they don't kill your nails! You don't have that nasty feeling when you take off a gel manicure or a set of acrylic nails. For this year I have a couple fun different patriotic sets that I picked up for 4th of July. This is the first it's called the bells and whistles. usually when I apply them I add some nail glue to my nail and then I stick them on top of that. They are preadhesived & between  the two adhesives they stay at least a week.

With the little guy it's hard if not impossible to wait for nails to dry when painted much a less for fun nail art to dry when painted!!these are a great solution to that. They last me a week. They look fabulous & I get compliments all the time. I love all the fun styles.( A few other tips when you're choosing the size to go on your nail go slightly smaller than your typical nail and they will stay on better and look nicer if there's a tiny bit of your nail showing at the sides you won't notice it but if they're slightly larger than Tend to pop off more) Let me know if you give him a shot .good luck!!

favorite fall nail colors/must have nail products

Let's start with the nail basics. These are my favorite top base and strengtheners. 

I start each mani with one to two coats of strengthener like nailteks or nail envy. Then a base coat. I have sworn by orly bonded but I am giving sephoras formula x sticky base coat a shot.  ( so far I think orly is better) . I swear by my out the door top coat. It is stronge and shiny and dries crazy quick. Also a cuticle oil or cream

In fall and winter especially I like grayish colors. These are basiclying the same there is commander in chic by sally Hansen and wet and wild wet cement. I love both of these wet and wild is a couple bucks cheaper

a couple good Metalics and a glitter are essential loreal sparkleicious is a nice silver glitter, Fergie going platinum is a nice metallic silver, golden-I by Sally hansen is a good gold.

a good white and a good black are very important for nail art they're used a lot . white on by Sally Hansen is a great white and Ebony Hates Chris is great black.

I love a great teal my three favorites are pure ice internationally known, Fergie Miami spirit and  zoya Giovanna

these are two purple colors that I love  and use them throughout the year wet and wild on a trip and Zolya Odette is on my toes right now

Berry red tones are a must, I love wet and wild haze of love, cover girl crushed berries,  wine to five, and wet and wild under your spell. I love both of these brands played the formula and brushes are great.

Mani monday

Happy mani monday!!! I have been taking a break from my gel polish because I went the months straight and my nails were tore up. The polishes I used are cover girl Pina colada 510 and wet n wild teal slowly and see 34195.   I have lots of posts I want to get up this week.  I have been trying out some new skin care and hair products and I wanted to give it a bit time to see how much improvement it made and give my skin and hair time to react.  I can't wait to share it with you guys.  :)  Off to slay the mountain of laundry while max naps.  Monday mani haven't done one of these in a while.

 My gel nail light came over the weekend so I was super excited to use it.  It was gel manis all the way around last night after Max went to bed.  I did finger paints frolic and floral, monkey butt used finger paints aesthetically teal-sing, and fire monster used  gelish pacific sunset.  Fire monster has super oily nail beds so when ever I paint her nails it never lasts more then a day so I am hoping this will give me a bit more wear for the girl.

 It has finally warmed up here in minnesota and I have the itch for some cute spring nails.  Here are some cute easy spring nail designs.

This is super cute mint with silver glitter from kimberly maranan

 These are a cute different take on both polka dots and half moon nails.

 This is a very sweet soft look for nails.

 This has four thing I am loving jade, coral, sparkle, and chevron whats not to love.

 This is a very cute alternative to the common pastel colors.

 Stripes and hearts this would work in any colors you love.

 Can't chose? You can always go multi colored.

 Or take that one step further with a sparkle accent nail!

 Or if all else fails and you are in a hurry throw on a great spring color like this coral and a bit of glitter over one for a accent nail.

Late Mani Monday

Sorry i am late guys. . My laptop/Baby has some serious issues and i am not sure what to do about it! I think it's going to have to go to the computer Dr! So this post is from my phone.  I wanted to share my mani from the baby shower.  I went mint (loreals club priv) coral (covergirl coral silk) and white( Sally Hansen white on ). My leopard mani lasted over a week but ineeded a change!

I also had to take a minute to share the amazing cake my gf Amanda made for my baby shower! So stinkin cute.  I will probably have to post for a while from phone or my dinosaur desk top.  But for now I have a house to get ready for company tomorrow, two girls to get ready for school and packed to go be flower girls in my brothers wedding, a hospital bag to pack, and at some point a baby to have.  Have a good day people.

monday mani

I am still rocking my nails I actually redid on thursday night.  They have held up and I love them so much why change.  I used wet and wild fergie polish in Miami spirit and going platinum and wet and wild ebony hates chris.  I used my dotting tools for the leopard.  It is soo easy.  You use a large dotting tool and make sorta odd shaped dots then go around them making 2 or 3 little c marks with a small dotting tool and black and make some little black marks in the gaps too. 

I had lots of fun with this and will def. be doing more leopard in the future :) On the pregnancy front I have a new symptom as of this morning.  My hands are falling asleep soo bad I can barley type!!  I am sure it is some carpel tunnel acting up due to swelling!  Isn't that just a barrel of laughs.  Well I need to get dressed and go run errands with Fire monster.  Have a good monday guys.

shark week Mani monday

Sorry guys forgot my many Monday post until just now! Was busy watching shark week. Me and my family treat it like a national holiday.  We wait all year.  So i was super excited to see this tutorial. 

. And don't judge about the shark teeth my white nail art polish wasn't cooperating!  Happy shark week i will have another post for you guys at the latest wed.  I promise My big 9 month preggo but will find motivation; )

Mani monday

It's mani Monday and it was finally a week where it lined up for me to paint my nails.   I decided to try out a polish from Maybelline I bought a while ago.  It's color show tenacious teal.  For the accent nail i did a coat of pure ice sexy mama. 

 

The Maybelline color was pretty shear so i did a coat of nyc matte me crazy matte to coat.  Is a trick i got from tiffany d. If you have a polish that is streaky it shear put a coat of matte top coat between it will make it opaque and non streaky.  

 

Baby projects/notd

 I had a few random things that I wanted to share and I thought I would lump them into a random post.  I have a few projects and a nail of the day for you :)

The first project is one that was sitting on the table for a while.  It was a taggy for Max.  I had everything cut up and sitting there but hadn't sewn it.  So last friday I sat down took a few minutes and threw it through the machine :)  I did applt green for the minky and one ribbon and robins egg blue and grey for the other ribbons.  (matching the rest of the things I have sorta stuck to those colors)

 Another project I have had sitting there for a while was some a bunch of jeans with holes in the knees to make into eyelit lace shorts for fire monster.  I made the girls a few pairs for these last year and they were a huge hit.  They were one of those things that as soon as they were out of the drier they were back on the girls.  They are easy to make I did a post showing how last year (I will put a link to that here ). I got one pair done friday also. 

 The nail of the day today was wet and wild on a trip, the accent nails were sally hansen mint sprint then I did white on for under the polka-dots.  Just something cute and quick.  Mix it up from what I have been doing lately.

 I started one more project and that is a pair of socks for the soon to be kindergarten!!  I am not sure what I will do for the pattern yet but for the foot I am doing Cat Bordhis personal footprints.  I will decide the rest when the time comes lol.

Hey guys I had to share my mani I did last night.  I finally redid my nails since it had been about a week of my leopard nails lol I stripped them down and did this...

I used sally hansen white on under all my nails except my middle finer.  It makes hot pink pop in person it is highlighter neon pink!.  I had 2 or 3 coats loreal sparklicous on middle finger and two coats of white on on ring finger.  (here is a trick I recently learned from Tiffany d if you are using nail polishes that tend do be streaky use one coat of a matte topcoat in between layers and it will keep it from looking streaky and taking lots of coats)  I used my black chevron strips ( I have the tutorial for the easiest chevron nails ever here ).I put a coat or two of orly passion flower over the other nail then  I topped it all with some out the door top coat (extra coats on the accent nails) and I was good to go.  A fun bright summer nail with a bit of sparkle!  Have a good one guys.

Heart 2 art nail review (animal print nails)

 Me and monkey butt ran to walmart for a few things a few weeks ago and like always I had to do the once over in the beauty department.  They had a whole new line of fun cheapy nail art.  We had to get a few fun things to try out.   There were tons we wanted to try but we only grabbed a few things.

One thing we got was a red nail art polish..not good at all.  The brush isn't small enough to do nail art it must just be meant for nail polish not art.   But we grabbed a few packs of nail decals (monkey butt took one set to her dads) but we kept these fun animal print ones here to try out.  There is zebra and leopard. 

 They are stickers not decals where you have to rub or anything.   You peel up what you want and place it where you want on the nail.  I trimmed some down to make them fit right and be what I wanted.  Monkey butt wanted to try zebra.  I peeled up the decals with tweezers and used them to place them.  Then put a top coat over the top. 

 I used the leopard on mine.  One wouldn't be quiet enough for my nails  So what I would do is peel them up with tweezers then use manicure scissors to trim them to the size I needed and save the extra for another nail. 

I put a top coat over them and they worked great much easier then painting them on your self.  They were cheap too.  They were 2.49 a pack!!  I have had them on for four days and I only put one top coat (normally I would touch up a few days in if I wanted mani to last longer but I was out of town).  They have tons of other great ones I can't wait to try stripes, fun nail overlays like lace and herringbone and full our nail covers (the girls want the glasses and mustaches and animals and stuff)  I got my niece a few different fun ones for her birthday I can't wait to see how she likes them.  If anyone has tried the other things let me know how you like them.  :) 

late monday mani..

So this is a late monday mani.  I needed one yesterday but we spent the whole day down sizing and cleaning things out and reorganizing for baby time.  We took 3 bags of trash out of fire monsters bedroom and one out of monkey butts.  Fire monster  is my baby hoarder she is a keeper and keeps all kinds of junk all the time.  It was all like little pieces of things she doesn't have or MacDonalds toys that don't do anything all kinds of junk.  Anyway between that and rearranging things I didn't get around to a mani until I couldn't sleep at 5a.m.  This is what I went with.

I used MissJenFabulous tutorial.  These are some cute ones.  The girls are expecting mani's today, so I will practice on them.

Weekend fun:campfire movie night/beauty and the beast/practice run 4th of july nails

We have had quiet the busy weekend and end of the week.  We had family over and all kinds of fun things going on.  I thought I would share some of the goings on with you guys.

First this happened!!!  Yup the crib came.  My hubby put it up and I will share more of that later this week I will do a update on max's nursery.  

My sis and calvin came down.  (my nephew)  We had a neighborhood movie night with my fav neighbors.  My neighbors kids were in town and they set up a projector so we watched up on the side of the garage and havw a bonfire.

 Next day we went swimming and had monkey butts performance of disneys beauty and the beast.  Calvin loved every minute.  She is so proud and did such a great job.

 My sis left last night taking calvin and fire monster with her (I already miss my little snuggle bug no matter how much of a trouble maker can be, she can be just as sweet)  

 Monkey butt, the hubby, and I got up early.  I made french toast we did a few chores and I thought me and monkey butt could use some practice run 4th of july nails.  So we ran to get a few good blue nail polishes and saw this at walmart!
