Where I have been. .

Okay are you ready??? This is going to be a long one.  Okay so if you follow me on instagram (sweet_aimee81) you know I didn't fall off the face of the earth I have just had my hands full.  I have been doing lots of things.  I have been journaling daily.  I started decorating each page just a bit about a month ago.

I have a helper who is constantly by my side and it is hard to get the laptop out to blog because he is pushing keys and deleting things and driving me crazy.  This is him helping pick up my Theresa Collins sequins (he is obsessed and dumps them daily)

I ordered a cakedori aka fauxdori off cakepaperie on etsy   It is a book that you add notebooks into.  I have 3 journal booklets going in there right now.  I love it I use it everyday and here are some ways I have been using it. (and I am on a april no buy lol)

  

I have been doing #listersgottalist on instagram I do a list a day following theresetgirls list. I have loved doing this.  I do one a day and instagram it.  Some are fun, some make me think, but I love it.

 

 

 

I have been documenting a tiny bit of each day in my heidi swapp memory planner I got before christmas. I have been doing this since the first of the year.  I think I will do a video on some of these new things at some point to show you guys how I am using them.

 

I got a color crush planner and I have been using this for my calender 

 

I love it I got the teal and I am using my disc bound for house hold things I don't have to keep with me at all times (budget bills work hours ect.) 

 

 I was super sick last week so I was relaxing drinking tea trying to feel better I also threw my back out

 

 

 I did a smidge of smashbooking

 

 

While I was sick last week this also happened.  Shelby (aka monkey butt) had a accident at school and she got stitches on her chin and broke her knee cap!!!  So she is in a brace for a month.! (her stitches just came out yesterday)

 

 

  For my birthday me and evea (aka fire monster) got a hair cut.  It was her first hair cut by anyone but me and her first haircut in a salon!!!  Lol she liked it.

 

We also bought a mini van.  I was time we traded up.  We were just too cramped in our sedan.  So we took a road trip to Omaha to the Omaha zoo. 

  

It was just a over night trip..a mini vacation.  We had soooo much fun and really needed a get away because it has been a stressful year so far.   I have been to tons of zoos in my life we were members of the Minnesota zoo always when we lived in the cities but Omaha zoo it awesome.  It is like the Minnesota zoo The Sioux falls zoo, Underwater world, and the Como zoo crammed into one and more.  We walked 6.5 hours and missed three buildings.

 

 

We started to get some nice weather and my hubby built my swinging bench I scored at end of season last year for 25$!!!  I love love love swinging benches.  It is my thing. 

 

 

Before we had nice weather I knit max some mittens.  They are cute little hedgehogs. 

 

And I knit a cover for a hot water bottle.  A g.f./pen pal from united kingdom convinced me I needed one and she was sooo right.  I use it to warm up the bed when its cold.  I use it to help with my back pain.  I use it for all kinds of stuff. 

 

 Speaking of penpals, that has been another huge thing I have been doing I have a handful of penpals So I have been writing them and sending out snail mail.  I have also done pocket letters. I have made some amazing friends with the penpal thing and am feeling so blessed to have had some amazing women come into my life.  :)  Well my little monster will be up from his nap anytime So I need to get a few things done. a treat for 50 Shades fanatics!!

I have to admit that my guilty pleasure lately has been the controversial 50 shades series (mommy porn lol).  Yeah it isn't going to go down in history as a classic but it sure as heck is fun to read.  I down loaded the audio books and I only let my self listen when I go to the guy.  So if you see me at the ymca on the elliptical and I won't look you in the eye you know why lol.  My husband said the other day"I wonder how many men have gone to bed with their wives and wondered what the hell is going on since these books came out"  lol.  I thought that was funny

Anyway I had to share this with you other fans.  I ran across this post on one of my fav blogs hi sugarplum and I had to share.  It shows what the famous penthouse in Escala looks like.   Enjoy all 50 shades fans.

lovely things

So since monkey butt has gotten out of surgery I have been the meat in a little girl sandwich. I have been crammed in between them snuggling. Imagine this with me squished in the middle..

It has been lovely and I have enjoyed every minute but I finally pried my self out with a crowbar and shooed they upstairs so that I can get some me time and even though they have come down every ten minutes to ask if is snack time I am going to relax and get a bit of wind down mom time.

I am enjoying some things I love. Some cocoa in the mug monkey butt bought me for a present. It is my fav. I love it and go for it before any other one , in fact I usually just wash it so I don't' have to use another mug :)

You will notice inside it is a tea spoon. My grandma Evea used to have tea spoons and I have always wanted a collection. I am starting one from thrift shops ;) There is just something more decadent about stirring with a real tea spoon then sticking a baby spoon or some silly thing in there like I usually do. lol

another thing is my book I am going to take some time for it shortly. (and yes it is from my old library and I brought it with me because I wasn't done reading it and when I do I will bring it back... Don't judge me!)

but right now is Nate Burkis time. I am catching up with my buddy Nate and D.V.F. is on there and I spotted this and love love love it..

Try to get the picture from the cruddy pics I took of my TV. That dresser over these has a GREAT wreath above it and the tray with chautchkies and lovely huge bouquet of flowers.

I am sooo recreating this on the cheap and then I will share this lovely thing with you lovely people. well I am going to enjoy myself for the little bit of time I have left it is a very chilly rainy day and perfect for curling up on the couch and that is just what I am doing :)

another sunday snow storm cozy inside

Today in my part of Minnesota we are due for some where between 12 and 20 inches of snow. I looks like this out side my window right now..

So being the smart woman that I am I am keeping my self busy hauled up inside my new little home. I already mopped last night and spent the morning scrubbing blinds (that I don't believe have ever been washed ) up stairs and now I am doing things I enjoy like reading this..

Some of you may have heard of Ree Drummond (the pioneer woman) she has a fabulous blog where she shares on all kinds of topics like photography, home schooling, cooking, and just life in general. Well she has one blog where she told the story of how her and her husband met fell in love and got married she calls it black heels to tractor wheels. Well it came out in book for in Feb. so I had to order it and have been reading it when I have spare moments ever since. Now one thing I love about Rees books in they are beautiful all the way through. I hate the paper covers and always take them off. look how cute it is with out :)

then inside she has flowers all over the pages. She is just too cute and I love the story of her and Marlboro Man. I recommend this book to just about any woman. :) It is funny sweet and will make you love her and Marlboro Man for sure.

Besides that I am working on my new project Citron. I am loving it.

I think I am going to make it longer and with more ruffle :) I got allot of knitting done while me made a run up to the cities on Friday (nice 6 hours in the car)

Now I will share a bit more of the new house details with you. Since we claimed the down stairs living room as our master suite we don't have a closet so we have to share it with the laundry area.

which will work okay once I get it all adjusted we just store our not regularly worn things in the spare bedroom closet up stairs.

another weird thing we noticed which will work great for drying my hand knits is this..

there is a laundry line that runs down our bathroom hall lol. Weird but I am a person who has allot of clothes I prefer not machine dried so this will work great for me. How my hubby will like having to fight through the jungle of laundry to get to our bathroom has yet to be seen but it hasn't been complained about yet. Well I am going to curl up on my heating pad and watch some netflix in my girl cave and do some other things before I cook dinner (twice baked potatoes and Marlboro Mans second favorite sandwich both from pioneer woman). We have to enjoy one last lazy day before my hubby starts his new job tomorrow. :)

great weekend.

I had a great weekend spent some great time with my hubby. After him having sooo much over time over the summer and working the two jobs it is soo nice to have him around. He really is my best friend and I miss him when he is gone all the time. He is a great dad and huge help around the house.

We spent the morning at the zoo with fire monster yesterday and then we went to harry potter with the whole family while my brother in law (very bravely kept a eye on fire monster) We did get some horrible news on the way home. One of my nieces friends big sister (who megan was in dance with) passed away. She was only 13 years old and she contracted strep a and she was sick less then a week. It was awful news that just makes you hug your babies and your heart break for that poor family of the beautiful blond girl Kaleigh Faeh.

I got a cupcake hat started and started a different hat to cleanse my palette. I got very little done though because this weekend was just more of a reading type of weekend. I finished Earthly delights and started heavenly pleasures. It is a good series although I didn't' realize it takes place in Australia and some of the sayings and terms throw me for a loop but all in all I like it a nice feel good read that made me get up and bake home made bread this morning. :)

We had a great dinner. This is a new one for me but it is sooo good...Potato Pizza. I know bucas has a pizza with potatoes on it. For this one I use Alfredo sauce. I slice potatoes using a potato peeler so it is paper thin slices cover the Alfredo sauce in the sliced top it with FRESH MOZZARELLA and some Oscar Meyer bacon crumbles. Soooo good. I spent most of the morning while my hubby worked cleaning and reorganising my kitchen which felt nice and when he got home I went through monkey butts drawers and made her narrow down her clothes by about half so her drawers will shut and what we took out will be put up for fire monster. (we have a large family and some great friends so we get lots of wonderful hand me downs in great condition) Alas she does need good pant length leggings it seems every thing is capris and a few more pair of jeans. Maybe Santa will hear my plea. ;)

But I am going to have to make some decisions and start my ramp my Christmas gift making. I was begging to put up decorations today but my hubby is firmly a after thanks giving sort of guy so no go. But oh well. I am off to finish my cocoa and read before bed. Hope you guys had a great weekend and hug your sweet baby's and say a extra prayer for the sweet Kaleigh Faehs family tonight.

knitting and zombie and bears oh my!!

So In the past few days I have sorta been a busy girl. I finished this...

My sister told me a while back she wanted a ear flap hat this year so I had her pick yarn and she picked out the chartreuse color that is the main color on the hat and for the pattern I just sorta winged it then I decided it was too plain so I did some fun colored braids and some molly flowers in purple her favorite color. :) It turned out cute :)

A lace slouchy hat . And I took a day to go to the zoo with firemonster. It was in high 6os yesterday!! Rare here in minnesota this time of year. I couldn't pass it up. So we drove the short 25 minutes to the zoo and had a blast I took some pics of the animals who seemed to be enjoying the relaxing day too for you lol..

We love the river otters. They were chasing Firemonsters hands and having a blast. They are our favorite...

The beautiful grey wolf (silly but he looks white to me) Was right up by the glass hanging out.

I thought this wolverine was soo funny sitting there like my husband sits on the couch to watch football. typical guy right lol

The Russian grizzlies were all napping away..

and my favorite was this guy hamming it up in all his glory. What a goof ball.

Anyway on another note when I wasn't invading the privacy if animals at the zoo I was watching my new obsession The walking dead. I love this show. I watched episode 1 on hulu and was hooked I had to buy episode 2 on hulu. The whole season as it comes out is a steal at 9.99 Love it if you like zombies or maybe even if you don't check it out . I can't wait for next Sunday :) Here is a link the the first episode on hulu while it still works check it out!!!

Ps this is what monkey butt would look like as a zombie!!! I hope she doesn't go sleep walking again anytime soon she will scare the bajeezus out of me !!!!!!!
