favorites.

I had a few things I wanted to share with you that I have been loving lately.  First off is the little acrylic organizer that I have been using to hold my most reached for things on my bathroom counter.  I have been loving this.  I picked it up at marshalls for around 10$.
Second is my revealed two pallet from coastal scents.  I have used my revealed two pallet a ton.  I would say is is my most reached for pallet.  So when I heard they had a revealed two that was total dupes for the naked 3 pallet I was soo excited.  I ordered it on sale for 10$ it is normally 20 but soooo worth it I don't think I have used another pallet since it came about a month ago.
I have a few skin care favorites that I use daily.  I use the fruit of the earth vitamin e cream every day as a moisturizer. It is great keeps my skin moisturized and it is smooth and I love it.  I find it at walmart for 3$ something for a two pack.  (I heard about it from holly chastain I love her and really do wish she would post more).  There is my acure marula oil.  I have posted about it before I love this stuff I use it under and around my eyes and any where I feel like I am dry.  Usually in the morning and at night.  I also have the trader joes serum. I  grabbed this two trips ago in the cities.  It is great stuff.  It has a silicone feeling like a primer.  I use a pump of this at night and in the morning.  It is around 10$ and is some great stuff.
My sleek contour kit in light.  I ordered this off amazon and love it!.  It has a great non muddy matte bronzer and pretty shimmer highlight.  I love love love this bronzer.
Those are a few great things I have been loving lately.  Do you guys have any new things you are loving.  :)

my amazing skincare and hair discovery.

I don't know about your guys but I am constantly on the search for two things. 1. is soothing that helps with my exzema on my scalp. 2 is something with amazing skin benefits that will help my fine lines, treat my exzema,  and help with the sun spots I have got from age. This is a big deal to me because now that I'm in my thirties I'm really trying to pay attention to my skin care routine that is good for anti-aging but I have mostly been at a loss because everything is so expensive you hate to try and not have it work I have been so happy with my hair and skin lately that I had to share the products and results with you. My skin has been in such good shape that most days I don't even wear foundation! I throw a bit of concealer under my eyes and call it a day!  To demonstrate just how much I am loving my skin right now I took them bare faced pictures for you.
Normally this time of year I have a big problem with exzema on my face and scalp, but this year I have found some product is cleared that up entirely for me and I had to share I took a picture of my face up close so that you can see there is no eczema patches no dry patches on my bare face and my dark spots that I have under my eyes on the edges have started to fade drastically! The only problem I have with my skin in this picture is some hyper pigmentation on my chin from a pimple. I have also seen a huge difference in my fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes.  Take note of the fact that there is no red patches around my hairline and my scalp insanely flaky or red and raw.

okay so let's get into it. I have two main products that I think are responsible. For myskin it is my marula oil from acure organics. I am in love with the stuff.  I put it underneath my eyes in the upside down triangle just like I would do my concealer at morning and at night and then I take whatever is left over and ran it through the ends of my hair. I think this is a huge reason that my dark spots are fading and I have no eczema right now. I have also noticed a big difference in the fine lines around my eyes. I've been doing this for over a month because I wanted to give it a good try and see the difference before I reviewed it. This is working wonders for my skin and I use less than half a pump twice a day. On top of that its only $15 for a bottle so that will last you forever at a crazy reasonable price.  Here are a few more great things you should know about it :it's cruelty free, paraben free, gluten free and its wild crafted and is cold pressed also it provides economic empowerment to South African women!!! Can you say amazing.
As for my scalp and hair I have been using acure organics shampoo and conditioner in pure mint and echincea stem cell.  This has been great for my scalp.  It is full of amazing natural ingredients but still lathers amazingly and leaves your hair clean soft and shiny but not feeling striped. The mint is cooling and soothing.
My hair is wet and snarly in these pics so it's hard to tell.  But it is shiny and smooth.  My skin has its glow back.  Bye bye dull red exzema ridden skin hello glowing even smooth skin.
I am so glad I found these products I can't even tell you.  I hope you give them a try and am as satisfied as I am.  I did some research and found a coupon code for you to get 15% off your first purchase use TRYACURE. (they didn't give this to me it isn't a referral code I get nothing from your purchase)
Have a good one guys.

vitagoods spin for the perfect skin review.

I have been meaning to get the spin for the perfect skin a review out for a while now.  I wanted to give this a good try and amount of time before putting out a review.  I got it april 16,2014 and I have been using it steadily for a few months now.  I had a spinning face brush but that brush only had one type of head and it also wasn't water proof.  So the reasons I wanted to try this one is it is water proof.  The other one I had would fall in the shower all the time and the batteries would fall out and it was always breaking apart..not good.  This one also has a deep cleaning/exfoliating head and a everyday/gentle head, as well as one for your body, and a pumice for your feet!!.  It retails for 99$ but you can always find a coupon for 60% off which bring it down to 40$ including shipping.  So I figured good deal.  Here is how it is packaged when It comes and each thing labeled.

I would say I have used the body attachment a few times not very often.  I did do it before some self tanning to exfoliate earlier this spring.  But I just don't think it is something I am going to use much.  That being said if you have a problem with breakouts on your back and chest I can see this being very useful.  I just don't happen to have that problem.  As for the pumice stone the second I took it out of the box it fell on the floor and broke!  So I used some e6000 and glued it back together.  I tried to use it a few times but I have some pretty extreme foot calluses on my heals and I don't think this cuts it.  I do use the face brushes almost every day.  I have even used the gentle one a few times since having my surgery and it was okay. I  have been touching my face allot and getting lots of little break outs so I am trying to make sure and wash my face well every night. The difference between this and say the clairsonic is basically the difference between a Colgate spin brush and a sonicare tooth brush.  One uses sonic technology (vibrations) and one spins.  That being said if you don't want to spend 200$ but you still want a way to get that extra cleaning and exfoliating I think the 40$ for this was reasonable and I have enjoyed it.  I would definitely recommend it :)  I hope this was helpful and I hope you have a good day. If you have any questions feel free to leave them down below.

great new drugstore beauty products.

I know I have been neglecting the beauty lovers here on my blog but I have two great new drugstore finds for you.  First off is herbal essences came out with a "cleansing conditioner".  Now a cleansing conditioner is what the brand wen claims to be.  I used to be obsessed with wen.  Since I have eczema on my scalp and am constantly trying to find the best thing to treat it.  I also am hypothyroid and that also causes dry skin between that being off and the crazy below zero temps we have had in Minnesota this winter my skin has been awful.
I love this stuff so far and it was around 5$ instead of the 50$ I was paying for wen!! Have to love that.  I have been doing a scalp treatment with coconut oil where I run the coconut oil in and wait a while to let it absorb then scrub it.  I then hop in the shower and when I go to shampoo I make a scrub out of sugar and my shampoo (don't stir it much or the sugar will dissolve you can also use baking soda.) This is also how I treat max's cradle cap.

This winter I have also been trying to step up my skincare.  I am over 30 now and I need to start being a bit more serious about my skincare esp since I have been dry and dull all winter it seems like.  But the world of anti aging can be very expensive, confusing and intimidating.  To me I always feel like the creams are soo much and you don't even know if they work So I ran a video series on of my fav new youtubers was involved in and it was 21 anti aging tips from women over 30!!  Right up my alley.
This video esp spoke to me.  For one she is cute as a button with her southern accent and for two who doesn't want every thing that she mentions!

Her tip is microdermabrasion.  She said that this kit from neutrogena for 20$ is awesome and she shows how she does it and everything.   It is supposed to make your skin baby soft and take away the dullness while diminishing fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage...Well I went out the next day to search this guy out.
She is soo right.  It is soo good.  My skin feels like slippery silk after using this baby and I do what she suggests and do a great mask and serum after.  I love love love it.   I highly recommend it.  There was lots of other tips too if you want to check out the play list.  I hope you guys are having a great day and now that things are settling down with the move I am hoping to post more often :)

favorite new drugstore steals and must haves

I have some new products I have found that I am in love with and I have been waiting to get a chance to share them but Max has been keeping me busy.  He finally is taking a decent nap and I am sitting down to share this with you guys quick.
Now this isn't the first time I have mentioned my dry skin and now that it is winter in Minnesota and below 0 degrees my dry skin is in full effect and I have been looking for a cream bronzer that I like for contouring.  I tried the sonia kashuk one that is around 10$ it was a bit orange for my pale skin.  Then I saw the elf cream duo.  I love the powder one and this one has been the best bronzer option cream or powder I have found in a long time.  I apply it with the elf small stippling brush and it work fabulous.
Another thing that is amazing is the real techniques makeup sponge (you can find it at ulta) it is about 5$ and a amazing dupe for the beauty blender the closest I have found yet.  It seems to be holding up amazing I have used it allot and washed it tons and it is great!!!..
This next drug store love it the elf lip exfoliator it is a lip scrub in lipstick form.  So you don't have to get your hands messy to scrub those winter dry lips.  It is a pleasant brown sugar scrub.  Can't beat the price I can't remember if it was 3$ or 1$ either way soooo worth it.  I do this after washing my face and top it with balm but you should also use it before...
This amazing matte lip color from elf.  It is in rich red.  It is a prefect blue tone red that makes your teeth look white, it isn't drying, and it great to apply because it is a think pencil type instead of the fat ones you can be extra precise.  It is a great holiday color had great lasting power and is dirt cheap!!  What is not to love.
So there are my drug store finds for the last month.  I hope you give them a shot and I hope you love them  as much as I do :)

new mommy night time routine..

I think being a mom we need some daily routines to take time to make ourselves feel good and take care of our selves and my night time routine is one of those things I look forward to it most eveinings.  So I though I would share what works for me.Okay having a new born I don't wear make up everyday but at least half the week I make the effort to put on something just because I feel better and more put together when I do.  So that being said the first thing I have to do in my routine is remove my make up and I do that one of two ways.

Option one is cold cream.  I love this I can't believe I haden't started using this years ago. I learned about on dulce candys channel (I don't add the avacado seed ).  I rub it all over and wipe if off with a wet wash cloth.  It even removes waterproof makeup!  It is great for dry skin also.

Option two is my norwex make up remover cloths.  I love these they just require water and they scrub off your makeup.  If I have had a long day and am super tired I can lotion and stop after this step.
Next I wash my face and the current face wash I am using is this one by cervea.  I can't tell you how much I like it because it has only been a few days but so far so good.  After this I will remove left over mascara with what ever generic brand dupe for neutrogina eye makeup remover I have and a cotton round.

Anther option I add some nights is exfoliating my lips.  I am many ways I do this but my current fav is the elf lip exfoliator.  It is awesome non messy doesn't taste gross and is in a lip stick form.

I then moisturize and I am using a cerave one that seems to be doing well.  (I am not sure this is the exact bottle because mine is blue but it has a pump)
On my way walking to bed I smooth a layer of this over my face and neck also.  It is 5$ for a giant tub and it works just as good as anything I have tried so far.

Last but not least I have a little thing of this sitting on my night stand and I put a little on my lips to moisturize them over night :)
Upon occasion there is a microdermabrasion or a face mask or eye cream but this was my low maintenance new mommy routine not my full out pamper routine.  What are your die hard products you use and swear by and can't skip.  I would love to hear.

No heat vintage curls (headband method

I have been slacking lately.  I haven't been posting much because I just haven't been accomplishing much.  You know how the first trimester goes.  Spending most of the day trying to stay awake and the other trying not to throw up.  If I am lucky I find enough energy to sweep, make the bed, and throw a load of laundry in.  Not super interesting blog material lol.

So I was digging in the recesses of my mind for a juicy tid bit to share with you guys.  Here is what I came up with how to do no heat vintage curls.  I love this method I do it all the time.  Any picture you have seen of me with curly hair for the last 9 months my hair has been curled this way.  The best part all it takes is a head band and 5 minutes.  Here is a picture of the finished product..

If you want more curl in the back have the head band a bit higher or you can touch it up with a curling iron back there.   I find it works well enough for me though with out touching up.  Both of my girl have these in the hair tonight.  It is way easier to sleep on then curlers.  And don't take as long to get in for their little attention spans.

Here are a few video tutorials that I used when I first started to do this method.
This one is long but she shows the sort of head band I prefer to use and how I wear it when I will be keeping it in for a day . ( I bought a big pack at the dollar tree and they have lasted me ages they are tight enough to stay put and keep the curls well.)

and this one is shorter but I find these headbands don't work as well. I also thing it will be helpful to you guys to see how she touches them up at the end.

Here are some tips after months of doing this.
1. The bigger the sections you do the bigger the curl.  ( I usually take everything in front of the ear until a bit behind it for my first section and stay about that size) If you take too small of sections you will look like you got a bad perm.
2. Don't do it with super wet hair.  Let your hair get almost dry before you toss it up.
3. I bobbi pin it at night time to make sure little hairs aren't slipping out.
4. if you will be wearing it more then one day , at night I just brush it out give it a quick spray with some water and put it back up and pin it.
5. if you have a silk pillow case it works best.
6. before I pull up I mix together some styling gel (or mousse currently using mane boost or aveda confixer ) and barely a pump of organix coconut milk serum and smooth through my hair.  It makes it shiny and less likely to friz
7.  I wear it for a day up usually with a cute dress or something it makes a cute little up type do.  Just use a thinner headband that matches your hair color more and push it back into your hairline. (people always complement me when I wear it this way)
Hope you guys enjoy this.  Please let me know if you try it and how it works out.

My favorite shampoo and I know I have sang its praises over and over is clear scalp and hair therapy.  It is amazing smells good is moisturizing and actually works.  I am basically flake free (that never happens)

My fav dry shampoo is dove it smells good and works well.  You should never wash your hair every day. I wash mine about every 3rd day or so and dry shampoo is a life savor.
 Favorite Hair Products:
I love this hair spray. It smells wonderful has light hold but can be built to a higher hold.
I love this coconut milk anti breakage serum.  Everyone is my house uses this.  It makes your hair smell great and leaves it stronger and shiny.  I mix it with my gel or mouse and put it in when my hair is wet.

Top 10 lip colors this winter

I wanted to share with you my favorite things I have been using for my lips this winter.  I didn't include lip glosses I was sticking to things in lip stick form for this.  So these are my top 10 things I reach for.  I will swatch them share names and what the pros and cons are for each one. :)  Here we go..

  •  1. maybelline  410 blissful berry
  •  2. maybelline  015 born with it
  • 3. revlon 030 fuchsia
  • 4. revlon lip butter 040 red velvet
  • 5. revlon lip butter 050 berry smoothie
  • 6. revlon kissable balm stain 001 honey
  • 7. wet and wild 508a black orchid
  • 8. loreal infallible 814 forever frappe
  • 9. loreal infallible 337 refined ruby
  • 10. maybelline baby lips
Here is how each color swatches in same order
Here is the break down on why I love each and when I wear it.
 1. maybelline  410 blissful berry This is a great nice berry lip color for the fall.  I love this!  I bought it recently and have reached for it more then any since then.  It is creamy and great if you do a lip liner under you can get decent wear but isn't a long wearing so have to reapply.
 2. maybelline  015 born with it .  This is my go to nude lip color.  I love it for days when I have a super smokey eye and don't want the over whelming lip.

3. revlon 030 fuchsia  This is a great fun bright lip color.  I love to wear this on a day out when I am in a super girly mood and want something bright and fun.
I love lip butters I have found I like the non glittery ones better (just like the way the sit on the lip better ) They are moisturizing shiny and great color pay off  (btw forgot pink truffle wear it all the time)
4. revlon lip butter 040 red velvet this color is a great for a red lip if you aren't worried about long wear and just want a quick swipe of a great red lip.  Perfect for the winter and holidays
5. revlon lip butter 050 berry smoothie  This is a great every day wear color.  I can see this being good any time of year Its just a great one to throw on with any look.

6. revlon kissable balm stain 001 honey  This is a great one for throwing on with any look also. It is a color that will do good with  any skin tone.  They aren't dry looking like normal stains I want darker colors to try but haven't bought any yet.
7. wet and wild 508a black orchid  This color is great it isn't as scary dark as it looks in the tube. It isn't a long wearing and have a great dark berry wine like tone to it.  I love this when I want a nice dark lip.

These infallible Lip sticks are great long wearing formula.  They aren't drying and will stay on for long long time.  I use these when I will be out and about and know I wont' have time to reapply and don't want to worry about smears.
8. loreal infallible 814 forever frappe  This is a great every day color good on most skin tones
9. loreal infallible 337 refined ruby  This is a amazing lip color.  Great red lip good for all skin tones wears for ages and won't smear and get messy so low maintenance red.  Will be perfect for holiday parties or any time you want that great classy glamorous red lip but not to worry about touching up constantly or it getting all over the place.
10. maybelline baby lips  There are more of a tinted balm and have tried lots of the colors but this one is my favorite out of all the colors I have tried.  I received this as a Christmas present last year and have repurchased quiet a few since then.  I love the subtle color it leaves and they are super moisturizing I put this on daily.

I hope you guys enjoyed this and it was helpful to some of you.  :)  I am off to make my self a cup of french press and get my day started :)

CLEAR SCALP & HAIR BEAUTY THERAPY review

Okay so I have made no secret of the fact that I have horrible eczema ridden dry scalp.  I have tried all kinds of crazy things in the past from oil mixtures, tea rinses with oils, wen, liquid steroid from the doctor.,any over the counter dry scalp shampoo there is  and going "no poo"  Even though no poo my hair was easier and worked better then any of the other treatments It wasn't gone.  My scalp was still dry and this time of year is the worst so you could see the dry patches through my hair.

Probably about a month ago I was picking up some stuff at cvs with my sister in law and grabbed a travel size bottle of clears total care.  Here is what their website claims :Just as good soil is to a tree, a well nourished scalp is the right foundation for strong, beautiful hair. For years women have been treating the wrong end of their hair. CLEAR SCALP & HAIR BEAUTY THERAPY™ made with Nutrium 10™, nourishes the scalp, creating the right foundation for strong, beautiful hair.  So basically  the theory is is your scalp is healthy it will nourish your hair and make it healthy and strong.

Immediately there was a huge difference in my scalp.  I went and bought full size bottles of the dry scalp remedy (that was a bit heavy for every time I wash my hair) but I bought a big set of the total care and it works great I am flake free which I don't remember ever being.   It smells good and my hair is shiny and soft.

Here are a few picture of my hair recently.  I my hairline by my part is typically where I get some eczema.  I have even had to blur that spot before to post photos on here to cover up red nasty spots.  But now I have no dry patches creeping onto my forehead or any flakes it is such a relief.  Next time I go grocery shopping I am going to pick up some of the balm and nourish oils and I will let you guys know what I think of those.

I just thought I would share this discovery with you guys.  I hope I can help some of you guys with the same issues and I truly believe this shampoo would help regular hair too there is lots of different formulations (colored hair damaged hair ect.)  give it a shot and let me know what you think.

3 huge makeup hauls / reviews

Okay so all over youtube I have been hearing great things about the new limited edition wet and wild pallets and I was maybe just a bit bitter because I don't have a drug store any where with in even a hour of me really so I figured it was a pipe dream .  This morning I got up and dropped the girls at school and decided since it was my first day in 6 weeks with no kids and I had a 10$ reward credit at kmart (they have the best makeup selection in my town) I would treat myself.  I happened to venture into the holiday sets and there they were!!!  EEEEk  I got both sparkle til morning and drink a glass of shine...for free since I had a 10$ credit!! Can't beat that.  But I also had a coupon for $1 off a revlon lipstick and I have been dying to try fuscia 030 from them so I grabbed that and wanted a fuchsia berry colored polish so grabbed ...by wet and wild.

Then I ran to walmart to check out the pure ice shadows again because I loved my internationally know soo much.  So I didn't find any great berry colors maybe I was a Soverwhelmed by the huge selection in the display lol So I grabbed vintage glam (the mustard color) and crushed (the sparkly gold) .13$ total not bad lol. So I ran home to put on eye makeup before I had to head over for physical therapy.

Okay so I mentioned I had a great haul last friday from ulta.  I had a few gift cards from returning a stippling brush that sucked and a eyeshadow pallet I wasent happy with and then I had I returned the two foundations I hated.  I also had a awesome coupon for 20% off my ENTIRE PURCHASE can't beat ulta really you can't and I don't have to feel super nervious about trying something new because they let you return things you aren't happy with!.  So since it is two hours away I went through and made a list of all the things I wanted to look for to try.  So before any discounts and what not this was 130$ after my bogos and 20% and the gift cards I paid $15.50 (granted I had a ton of money in gift cards for returning stuff that didn't work for me)

Sooo I labelled things by # for make it eaiser.  here is what I got::#1I bought loreal infallible lipsticks in 814 forever frappe and 337 refined ruby.  I love love love the ruby color it is great on any skin tone and doesn't smudge and last FOREVER with out being dry and flaky. forever frappe is great too for a match anything. #2  two maybelline dream smooth mousse foundations (110 and 150 knew I loved this and they were buy one get one half off)#3loreal bb cream in fair (jury is still out of this one folks am wearing it by its self today so we will see) #4 Revlon color stay normal to dry skin in 150 buff  (not sure on that yet either) #5 Loreal true match lumi in color w1-2 light ivory warm ( I have really loved this so far it makes me dewy is build able we will see) #67 revlon lip butter in creme brulee # 095 (this is a great nude lip) #7 maybelline line stiletto (not as good as loreal carbon intense black) #8 nyx caviar and bubbles eye palette (it is a dop for urban decay naked palette and I do like it I love the white it is soooooo hard to find a matte white with good pay off and this is one. )  #9maybelline fit me blush in medium coral (not great color pay off I am very fair but I should have gone dark coral and really don't care for this)#10 physicians formula happy booster in translucent ( I have had my eye on this but it is a bit pricier for drug store so I figured with 20% off why not it is okay I love the smell probably wouldn't repurchase but don't regret )#11 I bought nyx o2 white not knowing there would be a great one in the other pallete. but it is great matte white.

I have one more haul to share with you from kmart earlier this week.

#1 elf contouring blush and bronzing powder.  (I love this it was 3$ and a great little set pigment is great)  #2 milani baked blush in 05 luminoso (is a nars orgasm knock off it is 6.99 is okay prolly wouldn't repurchase) #3 is wet and wild blush in pearlescent pink (love love love this blush it is another nars orgasm knock off but color pay off is huge be careful lol t it has a nice sparkle and is 2.99) #4 wet and wild blush in mellow wine (another great blush huge pay off these are super pigmented so be careful 2.99) #5 I got a elf eyelash curler (don't usually use one but thought for 1$ can't beat this) and a elf small angled brush( to use with my gel eyeliner good I think it was 3$) #6 jordana fabuliner $1.99 ( eleventhgorgeous on youtube always talks about this but I think it didn't have great color wasent super black maybe it was just me but I think the elf liquid felt tip is better and it is 1$  and # 7 wet and wild eye pallete silent treatment 2.99(Tiffany d is supposed to be doing a tutorial on a cute look she was wearing the other day with this so grabbed it lol)

Here is what I am wearing today :
This  the fuchsia lip stick and for eyes I am using the eyelid color from the right pallete on my inner lid and crease color from the left on my outter lid (copper color) and I have the the right side definer color on my outer v area. Jordana fabuliner my loreal mascara

I have on the loreal bb cream only, then I used the elf palette to contour and I have on the wet and wild pearlesent pink blush.  I set it all with my remmel stay matte translucent powder

I know that pic was at a weird angle that makes my nose look like it is even huger lol but is shows the eye make up well.  So as I threw on my eye makeup I noticed that my ceiling is leaking water onto my window in my girl cave so now I am sitting and spending my first day with no kids in like 6 weeks waiting on a plumber!!!! booo.  Have a good day guys.
