poor baby sharp tooth

okay guys I wanted to catch you up on where I've been. For one thing I have had a nasty horrible cold.  it's gone through it ben, max, me, and shelby. That's number 1 number 2 Max broke his front top tooth in half diagonally the other night when he slipped in the tub. He chipped the other front one too just not as bad and he knocked both back up a bit into the gums. so we had to travel to Sioux Falls for an emergency dental visit in the morning and they filed it down that wasn't quite so sharp and it's really close to the nerve so if it keeps bugging him in a few weeks they will have to put him  under and cap it.  but if not I
he will just have a crooked tooth.

it has just been one of those weeks not only is everyone sick plus the emergency visit to the pediatric dentist but I went to run two quick errands the other day hit a pothole flat tire.. dead phone and just one thing after the other! So needless to say this mama is off to nap. happy Friday

christma diy

This weekend me and the girls w a need to do some Christmas diys. We started with these.  These are dollar tree diys. We bought foam cones and cut them to different tight. Then we took pushpins we did silver gold and one tree we did silver and gold and we push them in overlapping them to cover all the styrofoam and to hold each other and if there were ones that wouldn't stick and good I'd put a tiny dot of hot glue underneath to make sure that they were secure. I love how these came out! it took about a pack and a half of push pins for the largest tree.

then we made a few fun little snow terrariums.
I took old candle jars and glued flat glass marbles to them for a bit fancier candle holders.

this was the most expensive one the jar with the phone $4.00 at Walmart.  For the little trees and animals if we didn't have them on hand we went to Menards they had the biggest selection and reasonable prices it was about $2 per package trees and $1 to $2 per animal
just whenever already on the horse and we got a glass container and a candlestick from the Dollar Tree and glue them together with E 6000
we already on to this container the little house was from the Dollar Tree the raccoons in the garbage cans were from Menards and we use Epsom salt for all the snow.

I got a few more foam cones from the Dollar Tree and I had these beads that I got years ago for Christmas at the Dollar Tree I took them and hot glued them around the cones just for something a little shiny

I have this little window type area between the kitchen and the living room and on one side of it I have the stockings hanging and I decided to decorate inside the little window I hung snowflakes and ornaments on a fishing line and then I put my little cone and a couple came beholder and on the other side (the living room side )is where our stockings are hanging

I hope you enjoy it and if you try any of these let me know.

smashbook share.

It has been a horrendously rough week in my house. It's just been one of those weeks where things snowball and go wrong left and right like a soda can exploding inside my purse and driving my husband to work with Max starts projectile vomiting in the backseat, evea misses the bus and on and on. so this is what we're dealing with in my house today a one year old with the stomach flu.
He is napping and I thought I would take a moment to do a blog post and take some down time for mommy. Sorry if this had some mistakes but I am hurrying  and using speech to text and swipe to get this up.  I have been wanting to share this with you guys for quite some time.  you may or may not have heard of smashbooking I made my own and I chose to make it with a discount system I bought a punch off at levinger.com and I got the rings at Staples . For my clear plastic cover I cut down a cutting board from the Dollar Tree
for my pages just inside I used all kinds of different things ,mostly scrapbook paper that I already owned and usually folded in half so it would be double sided. this particular page is on ideas that I like for my house I used posted no it's a paint chip from Walmart that I punched in added in and some washi tape
I have bought and saved little envelopes to use throughout my book and my agenda which is also a disc bound system
I keep things like this in a little clear envelope in the front that was actually for a 3 ring binder and I snipped that part off added some cardstock and punched it and stuck it on with washi tape
here are two pages I did. One is on painting chips from my table but I did for my kitchen and the other I asked my family all of their favorite recipes that I make I wrote down all their favorite meals and I also wrote out a couple of the recipes punch them and added them inside
this is my shelby pages I did one like this for each of the kids this is shelby 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th grade pictures and for each kid I drew a picture of them and wrote things that I love them and attributes: they have around them
here is the inspiration paid for my kitchen things I like things I want to do
this is a page I made from Pearl Jam I made a little envelope out of paper and I stuck the things that I caught that they had thrown out inside that plus ben ticket I put our ticket on their bracelets that we had I originally had punched are pit for the faithful band which was for people that got to be in the standing room only but then I decided to stick it down
here is some of the projects ever has done from school that I wanted to say that I loved so punch them and added them in or a reward she got sent home from school behind that is a page of things that I love about my husband
this page is a pamphlet for a knit retreat that I try to go to and then the other side has little coupon Shelby made me one year
this one has a picture of ben and max mowing the lawn he has a smug little look on his face he loves to mow the lawn and I have some journaling on the back of that project life card at flips up and I wrote it on the back of their
This is a page full of pictures from camping with a journaling card.
Here is one of evea with a llama and some journaling on a flip up card.
A foot game we went to and the tickets we got from it.
 My advent calendar.
Whiskers and evea with her list front teeth I punched the card and journaled on it
Max watching the girls leave for school every day.  I Normale on that card back

smitten adent calendar.

It is done!!  I finished knitting all 24 mittens and crocheted the cord to hold it.

I had bought yarn for the project then thought"duh what am I doing "and used scraps from the stash.
I still need to hang numbers on them. I also don't think this is where it's going to stay but I wanted to hang it up and see how it looks.
I will do another post when I decide what I'm going to fill them with. Hope you guys are having a great day.  Off to  figure out dinner.

favorite fall nail colors/must have nail products

Let's start with the nail basics. These are my favorite top base and strengtheners.
I start each mani with one to two coats of strengthener like nailteks or nail envy. Then a base coat. I have sworn by orly bonded but I am giving sephoras formula x sticky base coat a shot.  ( so far I think orly is better) . I swear by my out the door top coat. It is stronge and shiny and dries crazy quick. Also a cuticle oil or cream
In fall and winter especially I like grayish colors. These are basiclying the same there is commander in chic by sally Hansen and wet and wild wet cement. I love both of these wet and wild is a couple bucks cheaper
a couple good Metalics and a glitter are essential loreal sparkleicious is a nice silver glitter, Fergie going platinum is a nice metallic silver, golden-I by Sally hansen is a good gold.

a good white and a good black are very important for nail art they're used a lot . white on by Sally Hansen is a great white and Ebony Hates Chris is great black.
I love a great teal my three favorites are pure ice internationally known, Fergie Miami spirit and  zoya Giovanna
these are two purple colors that I love  and use them throughout the year wet and wild on a trip and Zolya Odette is on my toes right now

Berry red tones are a must, I love wet and wild haze of love, cover girl crushed berries,  wine to five, and wet and wild under your spell. I love both of these brands played the formula and brushes are great.
Those are my top fall colors and products for nails.  What are your fall favorite nail products/colors?

favorites.

I had a few things I wanted to share with you that I have been loving lately.  First off is the little acrylic organizer that I have been using to hold my most reached for things on my bathroom counter.  I have been loving this.  I picked it up at marshalls for around 10$.
Second is my revealed two pallet from coastal scents.  I have used my revealed two pallet a ton.  I would say is is my most reached for pallet.  So when I heard they had a revealed two that was total dupes for the naked 3 pallet I was soo excited.  I ordered it on sale for 10$ it is normally 20 but soooo worth it I don't think I have used another pallet since it came about a month ago.
I have a few skin care favorites that I use daily.  I use the fruit of the earth vitamin e cream every day as a moisturizer. It is great keeps my skin moisturized and it is smooth and I love it.  I find it at walmart for 3$ something for a two pack.  (I heard about it from holly chastain I love her and really do wish she would post more).  There is my acure marula oil.  I have posted about it before I love this stuff I use it under and around my eyes and any where I feel like I am dry.  Usually in the morning and at night.  I also have the trader joes serum. I  grabbed this two trips ago in the cities.  It is great stuff.  It has a silicone feeling like a primer.  I use a pump of this at night and in the morning.  It is around 10$ and is some great stuff.
My sleek contour kit in light.  I ordered this off amazon and love it!.  It has a great non muddy matte bronzer and pretty shimmer highlight.  I love love love this bronzer.
Those are a few great things I have been loving lately.  Do you guys have any new things you are loving.  :)

So I have been thinking allot about marriages lately.(  I want to preface this by making it clear I am not judging bragging or anything of the sort.  I am not saying everyone should stay in doomed marriages or be door mats or condemning people for divorce nor am I saying to give up and get divorced.)  I have just had the thoughts running through my head of how every marriage is different. Since everyone was built on a different foundation and each one has different people in it with different standards and needs and believes and has different problems, every one also has a different amount of strengths and breaking points.

I was talking to a gf the other day who was just frustrated that she was in a argument with her hubby, but they couldn't get past it and move on because it is harvest time and he isn't home long enough to get through to the other side.  So frustrating.  I have been there.  This probably isn't a big deal breaking fight but a frustration. My advice was just wait it out they will be fine and while it isn't easy every hurdle you get past in your marriage makes it stronger.

That lead me to think about the trials and tribulations my marriage has been through.   We aren't perfect we are normal people. We have had money troubles. Where you are always on edge and bickering because its stressful trying to make ends meet with young kids.  We have had opposite schedules. Where he works when I am home and vice versa.  That didn't work well at all for us.  We wrote notes in a note book almost every day but we need to be together that just wasn't for us.  I have a gf that her and her hubby do that all the time to avoid daycare and it works for them but I know in my marriage it doesn't.

We have had power struggles with families (meh inlaws lol).  Huge moves where we moved away from friends family and our home for my hubbies job.  We have had medical troubles and babies.  We have grown up from young adults, who like to go out and have drinks and party, to parents who don't see the value in that.  Everything changes and goes through seasons.  While this isn't the steamiest time in our marriage, having a one year old..not enough sleep...not enough energy..and being the heaviest me and my hubster have been at...probably ever.  but it is one of the happiest.  We are comfortable and feel loved and there isn't as many stresses and worries and external factors.

While I feel like I am happy and great and could weather the storms, I think of things some of my gf's have been through with husbands who have had full blown affairs where they left them and the  horrible betrayals and they have worked through it and are back together.  I know that is something that would be beyond the weight limit of my own marriage and it would snap under that.  But I think about my advice to my gf about the harder the times you weather, the stronger it feels like your marriage is and I think maybe they just have a stronger marriage then even mine....who knows.

I just know the longer I am married and the more I see, the less I judge.  I love all my gf's and if they are happy I am happy.  I am off for a weekend with the hubby while my sis in law takes our monkeys for us I will miss them, but I am looking forward to a good nights sleep and some relaxing date nights with my hubby.  I hope what ever your troubles are right now the scales tip and things balance out and you can just enjoy life this weekend.  Have a good one guys.

easy spot cleaning for make up brushes

I have been out sick all week slacking off.   I have that may respiratory bug that's going around.   So I haven't had much to share.   My nails aren't even pretty because I am doing nail envy strengthening treatment.  But I have had this little life Saber of a trick up my sleeve for a while.   I have been using allot of cream products lately and if you use a gel liber with your brush and go to use it the next day. .. not going to work.   Here is what I do to spot clean my brushes.
I use a stamping up stamp pad cleaner some spray brush cleanser.

See how dirty this is with gel liner from yesterday

Well I spray the cleanser on half the pad.  I then scrub the brush around then sib it on the dry side and boom clean! ! And no dry time or laying flat.  I can toss them back in the holder out use them right away.
See how clean that came.
I love this trick when I am traveling so I don't have to pack tons or brushes and don't have to worry about having a good clean brush for my eye brows or liner.  The pad I use is just fuzzy one.  You could use anything like that texture I use this when I clean my brushes to.  I just put I bit of ivory dish soap on one side to scrub them on. Works beautifully.   Have a good day guys.
