Girls knit weekend.

So my girl friend Pat and I decided to set up a knit retreat for us and some of our girl friends.  We decided we would put the invites out there and who ever could make it could make it and no matter what we were going.  We chose Stillwater, Mn for the location and finding a place that would work was a bit of a challenge the cabin we wanted to rent never replied back the bed and breakfasts were full up and the only ones who weren't required a two night stay! So we chose a hotel.

We left early sat morning and picked up Jan on our way.  This is the gorgeous leaves changing from 60mph in the car lol.
Then we went and picked up Kady in Minneapolis, which was a blast.  Kady lives where Ben lived when we were dating.  I went to school a block from his apartment and every Friday was date night in that neighborhood for us.  So it was such a blast from the past for me.

Our first yarn shop we hit is Bella Lana which is right beside Aveda where I went to school and it used to be a coffee shop back then.  But it is tiny and sleek, bright, and has beautiful yarn.  I got this beauty there.

Then we moved on to St. Paul and ate lunch off Grand Avenue at billys.  I had the best burger ever!  I can't remember the name but it had blue cheese and applewood smoked bacon (hold the chilli sauce) yummmm.
Then we crossed the street to The yarnary.  I got this beautiful madeline tosh sock yarn!!  I thought it was so symbolic of this weekend with the changing leaves color.  I immediately started a pair of embossed leaves socks.  I bought reinforcing thread for the heels and toes because my rough hobbit like feet would eat through this beautiful stuff otherwise.  :)

Then we hoped down the block for anther must..
Cafe Latte cake yummm...  I had caramel apple cheesecake.

Then we finally hit the road for Stillwater.  We had to get to Darn Knit Anyway before they closed. It was a adorable shop with great yarns and fabric.
Here we are with their adorable yarn bombed tree out front .  And here is Pat with the beatimous pregnant Kady.

I didn't make any purchases here but my girlfriends did.  Then we wandered the strip downtown by the river hitting all the other great shops. I bought this( to organize gift cards I think)

Then we went for a delish dinner at grand pizza where Benji and I ate our wedding night dinner and go every time we are back in town.  There was a super cool old stretch limo.

We went back to our hotel to knit for the night and relax.
Then next day we got up ate breakfast headed and out hit target. I  got some weird odds and ends some super cute measuring cups, a elf foundation brush, and post it note graph paper !!! (brilliant I could kiss who ever came up with this idea)
Then we had to hit Ikea I got these (I think they will be in my make up area in my girl cave.)

From there we had lunch at Panera and picked Shelby up.  We had two more stops to make before we headed out though.  We hit . Knitters Palette .
This was my fav shop when we lived in the cities.
Sadly I missed knit guru Val and the lovely Pam wasn't in either but we did get some lovely cashmere yarn to make fingerless mitts.

We hit Penzys Spices and headed home. It was such great fun.  I can't wait for our winter trip to do it all over again.  What a blast.

Happy 33rd to my sweet hubby /copper smokey eye

Today is a great day.  My hubby turns 33!!!  I am not sure how much I talk about my hubby on here but let me tell you a bit about him.  He is a amazing dad!!  He is the dad that always takes the kids to the park, reads the extra bed time story, plays the games that make me want to bash my head into a brick wall, and works so hard for his kiddos.
He is my best friend who makes me laugh and laughs with me until it hurts and tears run down our faces.  He listens when I need to talk and my partner in everything we do.  We are in this together not just one of us carrying all the load. He has grown into a even more amazing person then the one I fell in love with over 7 years ago.

He is considerate and always makes time for me and would give me anything in the world to make me happy.  He gives his all to me and kids and is so selfless and amazing.

I can't wait for this amazing man to get home so I can take him out to a great dinner and take care of him.  I made sure every chore in the house was taken care of so he can relax and enjoy.  I am all gussied up to take him on a birthday dinner and I though I would make this a 2 for 1 and share my new favorite smokey eye I have been wearing allot lately.

I use the same  wet and wild petal pusher eye pallet that I did Tiffany D's purple smokey galaxy eye with last week.  I put down a dark eyeshadow stick as a base then smudge it out.
This time I used the copper color on the right that says crease all over my lid and a bit underneath my eye on the inner half (It looks more pink in this pic but it is more coppery live and ) Then I stamp the one underneath it that says eyelid in the corner and slightly underneath the outer half of my eye and smudge it out.  Then very lightly over the edge of those between then and my highlight I VERY LIGHTLY use the shade to the left of that one that say crease.  I use the top white one as a highlight under my brow and in the inner corner of my eye.

I line the top with L'Oreal carbon intense liquid eyeliner and the bottom with black aveda eyeliner.
I used my physicians formula cashmere bronzer to contour my face and a bright pink blush so I don't look washed out and pale since this is a fairly smokey eye.

Its pretty and sparkly and is great fall colors.  I hope you guys have a great day I know I will because I am spending it with my best friend and the man I love :)

Flooring remodel before and after.

Okay so I have hated my linoleum and carpet since I moved in a year and a half ago and since our lease is up I talked our land lord into putting new carpet and linoleum in our main floor (I really don't care about the up stairs and down stairs they are fine)

Here is my living room.

A big change in here is I had them bring the linoleum over to the other side of the bar (which were thrift finds from a while back and I just now painted to match).  So now my bar stool aren't on carpet which is nice.

Here is the before of my kitchen.  Lovely gold linoleum that had holes in numerous places.

Here is the after with the my new linoleum

I was super impressed with the stuff they chose it is looks and feels like a natural stone tile!!.  But isn't which I love because I hate tile and after having the while tile top table for years I never want to scrub grout again!!!!  So now after almost a week of chaos around here and having things out of there designated place this anal eddie is a happy girl!!

smokey fall leaves eyes

So this time last year I fell in love with Tiffany D's fall smokey eye tutorial and this is already my second time rocking the look this year so I had to share.

It is such a pretty not overwhelming fall look..
The colors I used in this look are loreal hip high intensity in striving , bed head copper, and aveda riverbed.

I used loreal carbon black intense liner and loreal voluminous full definition mascara

I just love fall!  It is my favorite season.  I love the colors I love the chill in the air and curling up with a book or knitting on a chilly day with a warm drink. I hope you guys enjoy this and give this great look a try :) Here is the fabulouso Tiffany and her tutorial

purple galexy smokey eye

So I super love Tiffany D's make up tutorials anything she has ever recommended I have loved so I was super stoked when she did her tutorial and was using wet 'n wild petal pusher palette because I can get that here in my semi small town.   I bought the sweet as candy pallet which she used here.  For her back to school tutorial and I also bought the revlon eye stick thing she used but wasn't as in love with it seeing as it was broke before I even got it out of the package!!!

Any way I follow her on instagram and I saw she posted picks and I knew she was getting ready to post the tutorial with petal pusher (she mentioned in her august favs. that she was going to do one) and So I kept checking the site super excited it came out yesterday so today I am rockign the purple galaxy smokey eyes!!

The pallet looks like this

I super love them this doesn't show as bright and purple as it is in person.

The mascara I used is the same one she uses in the video it rocks and is cheaper then the one I was typically using.

 love purple !

I did a nude lip with a loreal lip stick covered with a stila lip gloss

I hope you guys try this and I hope you love it as much as I do.
