newest refurbs and rooms rearranged

I have a few new refurbs to share with you guys. First off is this rocker I got . It is super sturdy and comfy and is in good condition the cushion is super thick and it is very nice to sit in..but not super cute

I sanded it down painted it and recovered it in this grey blue and purple fabric and scotch guarded that.

This one is probably going to wind up going but not until there is room in the shop.

Here is my other refurb this one is staying home with me though :)

nice 6 drawer dresser ugly pulls though. and a bit beat up but the drawers open and close nicely. I have been waiting for something like this for quiet some time

This one is part way done I am thinking of doing something esle to the front and I need to get the right pulls. but it is painted a nice grey to match in my bedroom and I am sick on trying to get my drawers open so there is ribbon for pulls until I get the ones I want :) I had it some where else in my room after lots and lots of moving furnature. Then yesterday was tuesday morning coffee with the girlfriends and my brillant girl freind Laura said "nope all wrong" (she was right and I love her for telling me) So my hubby got home and I got to break the news to him again that his evening was to be spent moving furnature again. So Here is my room now..

I am not done with it by any means but is cute then before. I am going to get two shelves like the one on my side of the bed and fabric the insides for side tables :) I moved the sofa table from in the girl cave (the up dated girl cave is tomorrows post)

the dresser is where the shelf was before with the tv on it

I put the white picture and the milk glass that was on the kitchen table on the sofa table.

So here is that side of the bed.

Here is to the other side of the dresser..

I backed the dresser with damask fabric and moved one side table there to hold the printer and printer paper and what not and use as a side table it will be a seating area and for now the rockers home until there is room in the shop.

The pictures on the wall were on the side table at the hubbies side and I am going to add more black frames with family pics

Here is another angle of that

and since I stole the table decorations this moved up from the girl cave and was filled with peas and a candle

So here is the table now.

Well I better get some chores done and feed fire monster lunch before she takes matters into her own hands

family photos

My hubby has been on me forever that we needed new family photos. He was very right seeing as our last family photo monkey butt was fire monsters age, and fire monster wasn't even a thought yet and we weren't married!!! It has been a long time. So before our last trip to the cities I talked to (i.e. begged) my gf Steph to take some for us and she (as brilliant as she always is did a fabulous job) even though that morning I had to rush to get Monkey Butt from her dad and then meet my hubby who was rushing back from a cabin weekend with the boys (and really was right I should have cut his hair before the pics but meh what do you do) they turned out great.
Here is a great one of us ..

This one is fun and I was very impressed because all of us girls were in desperate need of a pedi and basically just had polish on our big toes but she made us look good and some how made our toes have light pink polish on them!!

This one is soooo us. Monkey butt has her crazy hysterical laugh even fire monster my serious girl has a grin.

here is my serious girl now. She actually has blue eyes but this is just something to do with the way the light hit them.

here is another really nice one of us

here is my monkey butt showing off all of her freckles. I love love love this pic of her so much.

here is all of us standing out on the dock.

This is one of us sitting on the stairs that lead down to the dock

and here is another super great one of my girls. This is a very them picture that she captured.

I love the job that she did and I can't wait to do some cool things with these and put them out around the house. I love them soo much. Hope you guys enjoyed seeing them as much as I did

Well Omg My blogger picture uploader has lost its mind. This is the best I could get out of it tonight. Well Any who. I took some time to make some pics really quick tonight of the new super soft cowls that I have both at my etsy shop and Italy Ava.

I am super loving these. They have been selling like hotcakes in Italy Ava so I decided I had to feature them in my etsy. So I talked my gorgeous friend Ali into modeling for some pics for etsy. This first one is a huge color for fall and something I can't get enough of peacock.

Here is a random collage of the different ones I had on hand

Here is the kelly green super great pop of color for the fall..

This one is a nice pink

another super hot color for the fall is mustard.

If you are getting a pop or color some where else a great option is this beautiful neutral grey..

This is a great plummy purple jewel tone

Here is the assortment laid out at Italy Ava. I also have khaki, black, chocolate brown, and red. There are even a few striped ones.

These are soo soft warm and cozy once you try it on you don't want to take it off. They are soo cuddly I can't wait for chilly weather bring it on :)

new peices before

So this morning me and the fire monster went out looking for new prospects for a redo. So we hit the thrifts in the local area and here is what I came up with.
A antique rocker. It is sturdy in pretty good condition but just not CUTE.
I also found a short 6 drawer dresser with all the drawers working perfectly!! I have been waiting for one of these to cross my path for a while. So this way may be staying home with me but I am going to clean, paint, line, and change out its hardware and we will see where we are after that whole process. :)

Anywho I am finally on the mend and actually got up got dressed and even wore make up today but I am looking forward to having a fairly relaxing day with just a bit of knitting and then tomorrow my lovely girlfriend Alison is going to model my cowls for some pics so I can put them up on my etsy page. :)

tons of ways to wear scarfs

Just saw this amazing video on my gf alisons pinterest. Love love love this for those of you who get stuck in a rut great way to try things in a way you wouldn't normally

Purse organizers and finished product Queen Anne chairs and chest

So I decided to add a new product to my shop both on my etsy and at Italy Ava. It is these great new purse organizers. I love purses but hate that all the really cute ones are basically a big black hole for my phone to disappear into so I search endlessly while it rings. Well this solves that problem.

Here is the zebra print one. It has tons of pockets. In this one I fit a check book, two card holders (one i used for medical cards and club cards one I use for business cards, a pack of gum (bribes for fire mosnter) not 1 not 2 but 4 lip glosses, mascara, and a pin , and my phone and there are pockets left!

I slip it inside my purse and it wraps around the out side and my wallet and coupon file fit in the middle :) If you have a smaller bag they roll up too.

I also made it in a khaki color.

Here is the finished Queen Anne chair after I glazed it :) It is currently sitting at Italy Ava for $68.00

and here is my great chest for the end of my bed after another coat of paint and glazing and distressing
I scrubbed the inside out with multiple products and lots of lung and sinus killing bleach :/ And then lined it with this great damask paper.
I also threw in a few drier sheets to keep what ever I throw in there fresh. :) Well I am off to knit some more cowls. I got all my custom orders done but I want to make a few more of the new colors to put out with my inventory :)

some new italy ava pieces and a find for my own abode

So I went on a adventure with my lovely ladies the other day and found a few new pieces to refurbish.
I got a few queen Anne chairs. I think they turned out fabulous.

they look just like this one from pottery barn except those are 249$ :)

I am loving them I didn't have the heart to leave them in the cold lonely garage for two days so they are sitting in my living room.

I also found a piece I have been looking for for my home for a long time. A chest for the end of my bed. I snuck this quick before my hubby went to bed. The clear top coat isn't fully dry (hence the spray marks)

I painted it pebble.

It has a nice little shelf inside but I still need to vacuume out the mouse poop:/ It really eeks me out but this bad boy was only 30$!!! and It is in great condition but was in a barn and had old stuffed animals and junk in it!!! I am going to give it a proper sterilizing tomorrow.

I just don't have it in me today. I have been miserable for weeks and drug myself into the minute clinic today. I have a TERRIBLE sinus infection and my ears are just bursting with fluid. Now on top of it all I probably have the hantavirus lol Oh well. I have kids to get to bed, a magnet board to finish decoupaging, two cowl orders to finish knitting, and a few purse organizers to sew :) Off to work
