new items

well I have some new items on my shop. These ones are being shipped out in the morning to some lucky early childhood aids.

more cool projects

So I have a few new things to share with you. This one I am soo excited about and love love love. I found these things called baby legs that are great they are like tights/legwarmers for toddlers/babies. That way when they need to go potty or get changed you don't have to wrestle the tights to keep thier little legs warm plus they protect crawlers legs. Big kids can even throw them on with short sleeves. Well only problem at 10-12$ a pair a bit rich for my blood. So when I saw this here Is what I looked like ..

You can make your own from knee high adult socks!!! I bought fire monster tons of pairs for $1.50 at target and here is the secret so you too can rock like me...

Cut the sock like so..

Throw away the toe and heel and fold the arch part like so..

put it together with the leg part of the sock like so and sew up on zig zag stitch..

and viola you have a pleasing selection of awesomeness for what it would cost for less then 1 pair of baby legs.

Now I have to show you the new fabric that I picked up it is too cute..

I already started to sew projects for my etsy out of it

Happiness is a cup of coffee shared with a friend

no questions until I have had my second cup and coffee is my cup of tea. Isn't this one great coffee and chocolate... Is there anything better really??? Well I am off to do some chores before I am forcing myself to go to the gym even though I got home from the dentist not long ago and am just now getting the feeling back in the left side of my face. Not even kidding you it was my eyebrow ,ear ,the nose everything in between!!! wish me luck people

So my cupcakes took off on etsy this week. So this is what I was busy with yesterday..

getting everything knit personalized with their chosen sprinkles and toppings..

and getting ready to ship out :)

I had lots of fun and can't wait to hear how every ones likes them.

Prize time.

It is time for a prize give away again. :) I was thinking we need to put togather a few things to give out ..

one thing that would be fun would be a project bag :)..

everyone could use a project bag to throw your project in. or if you don't happen to be a knitter great to throw some jewelry in on a trip or keep some things together in your purse.

The next prize is..

a microwaveable heating pad. It is filled with rice and some peppermint herbal tea. Perfect for those sinus issues and tired eyes. :)

One of the headbands I came up with that is adjustable and has Velcro tabs on the back to help it stay in place so you aren't fussing with it and messing it up your style (I hate that.)

and last but not least my generous sis donated these great charms from her etsy shop for my drawing...

mitts and hats

So Monkey butt is still sick and I am under the weather so my sweet hubby Benji took Fire monster to the gym so we could get a break. I thought I would take a quick minute to blog quick and share some things I just finished.

I saw these and I thought they were too cute I had to give it a try. I took a few shirts that had been passed down but I didn't think would get much wear and made them into this

For this I decided to spice it up by adding the little strap and buttons like this hat I knit.. and it just so happened that the design on the shirt was the perfect size for the top..
So I thought that was cute I might redo the bill thought I don't think it came out as nice as it should have. this was my second attempt..

Cute little blue one with the rosette. very cute I think though.

Then with all the sitting around with my girl I finished these for my sis for Christmas.



I cast on 40 st knit 5 rows 1x1 ribbing and knit until the length I wanted the thumb to hit at them I put in a 6 stitch 1 row button hole for the thumbs and knit until the length I wanted and knit 1x1 ribbing for 5 more rows then did a sewn bind off. (notice the mani is holding up great from the Tuesday not so much as a chip yet still fresh as a daisy)

guess who is getting a bubble for christmas...

So I was dead asleep about 5:30 this morning (which was saying allot because I was up half the night hacking up a lung) when I was awoke by the unmistakable sound of someone throwing up. I sat straight up and smacked Ben. Since fire monster was sleeping right beside me (yet another problem lol) I had figured out it had to be monkey butt. "Shelby's puking" He went in and checked on her.

We later had a discussion about why he is always the one who has to take the action. I said I am dispatch he is the first response team. That is just how it is in our house lol. But anyway. This was the state most of the day in between puking spells..

At one point she was done throwing up for a while then started again and she lay her head on the toilet seat and said"I knew I shouldn't have snuck that chocolate" she had snuck the chocolate out of her advent calender even though we said no since she was sick and threw it all up. Poor kid. So we are thinking since this is now pinkeye, a broken arm, strep throat, the flu, and the stomach flu for her so far this school year that we should get her a bubble for Christmas since she clearly has no immune system

She is keeping down water and Gatorade so far now and We are trying apple sauce. This is how she is right now.
she is in the pillow case dress I made her yesterday. Hers ties in the back and has rosettes on the left breast a pocket on the right front I am not done I think they are still missing something..

Here is fire monsters..

it isn't crooked it is just the way it is hanging. hers has a bow on the left breast and a pocket on the right bottom and ties at the shoulders. They are cute but I think I am going to add some contrasting fabric to the bottom tomorrow. and bigger ribbon..

Here is what I have been working on today..

I ripped and restarted my sisters fingerless mittens. They were too big at 50 stitches so I am starting over with 40 and they seem to be working just great. A nice easy mindless thing on a day I feel horrible with this cold taking over my chest and have a sick kid on the couch. We are having a lazy movie night and watching princess and the frog on netflix and laying around. I did unload the dishwasher and start a load of laundry I might even vacuum but I think that is as good as it is going to get around here today no extras just the tidy up. Well right now yahoo says it is 13 f here in MN so I hope every one is doing good and staying warm Have a good night guys

My new addiction

So I don't know if you guys remember this.

It is a head band I bought at a craft fair for fire monsters b-day...

it is adjustable and has Velcro on the back so that it stays in place. I love it and I am not a perfect sewer by any means but practice makes perfect so among other things I set out to make some of these today...

They are cute and work just as well I am thinking after a bit of practice I will throw these on my etsy too. I love mine and it even stays in place at they gym. (I won't charge a arm and a leg for them like I paid though lol)



I was showing monkey butt some of the project bags I was working on and she asked for one. I said "why what would you keep in it".





"my Nintendo ds" duh I should have known.



So I came up with this (give me some credit I have only really been sewing a few days this was quiet the leap for me lol)





this is the out side but..

This is the inside it has 4 pockets 3 hold individual games and one holds the little 4 game case I bought her. Plus it is nice flannel so it will protect it :) will be nice on car trips :) I worked on some other stuff too but I didn't take pics. :)

I know my sewing isn't top notch (I have been sewing less then a week bare with me people lol)
