31 w update

Sorry this is late guys.  I have had a busy week.  I am exhausted but my allergies were killing me and I couldn't sleep so I decided what better time to sit myself down and get this done.  Okay what has happened between weeks 30 and 31.  Well Monkey butt had 4 performances of the play beauty and the beast.  She did great and we were super proud of her.  My sister, Calvin and her hubby all came for one performance and they took fire monster home with them Saturday night.  Then sunday Monkey butts family came to watch and took her home with them.  Sooo...I had 4 days with no kids.  No I didn't get a ton accomplished and yes the time flew by.  I missed my girls and shed some tears.  It is crazy how kids can drive you to the brink of insanity but with out them we are lost!

Any who with in a 24 hour period of fire monsters visit 2 of their pets died.  My sister had 3 cats one of which was a tiny not old enough to be away from its mom baby kitten they kept shut in her craft room and 3 dogs, a st Barnard a husky and a German Shepard and yes...she is crazy and no she doesn't live on a farm..lol.  Fire monster had checked on the kitten and thought she got the door shut she said she got to the second step to go down stairs and heard the door open. The German Shepard had tried to pick up the kitten and broke its neck!  (it was pretty sad and traumatic and Evea didn't tell anyone what the story really was for days.) But that same day over night my sisters husky passed away.  (he was older and had issues for a while).  So that was allot for a 5 year old and my now 9 year old nephew with autism to take in. 

Calvin was heart broken over the kitten, but I happened to know that the women who had given us whiskers had some new kittens to give away and one looked just like our little guy.  So we picked him up on the way to calvins birthday and now they own whiskers mini-me.  They will integrate him with the dogs and he is bigger then the tiny kitten and tougher.  If he is anything like his brother he will fend just fine so long as he doesn't have a heart attack when he sees Lola the st Bernard and think she is a bear.   This guy is even more feisty then whiskers if that is believable.  Whiskers was more sheltered because he was abandoned and bottle fed, where as this guy was outside with his brothers and sisters and was handled and is used to interaction with people but he spent most of his days tumbling around with 9 other kittens and being naughty.  For instance whiskers curled up on my chest and slept the whole way home when we got him, this guy wouldn't quit climbing me and I finally gave up and put him in the car carrier where he curled up and went to bed for the 3 hour ride.  My sis says he is doing great though and she sees lots of whiskers behaviors in him.

We are now up in the cities we have my Fire monster back which is soo nice.  We are going to be getting ready for a baby shower with family and a couple close friends tonight.  We will be here for the weekend enjoying time with the family and relaxing on what will be one of our last trips to the cities since I only have the month of july left to travel and will be in the no fly zone through august.  I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of july.  I am off to find some food and my allergy meds.  :)

We have had quiet the busy weekend and end of the week.  We had family over and all kinds of fun things going on.  I thought I would share some of the goings on with you guys.

First this happened!!!  Yup the crib came.  My hubby put it up and I will share more of that later this week I will do a update on max's nursery.  

My sis and calvin came down.  (my nephew)  We had a neighborhood movie night with my fav neighbors.  My neighbors kids were in town and they set up a projector so we watched up on the side of the garage and havw a bonfire.

 Next day we went swimming and had monkey butts performance of disneys beauty and the beast.  Calvin loved every minute.  She is so proud and did such a great job.

 My sis left last night taking calvin and fire monster with her (I already miss my little snuggle bug no matter how much of a trouble maker can be, she can be just as sweet)  

 Monkey butt, the hubby, and I got up early.  I made french toast we did a few chores and I thought me and monkey butt could use some practice run 4th of july nails.  So we ran to get a few good blue nail polishes and saw this at walmart!

 Now monkey butt is at her last performance of beauty and the beast, then is heading off with her dad and grandparents for the week.  Yes that is right I have a few days with no kids!!!  No, I don't know what to do with my self.  At the moment my hubby is at work and I am taking a minute to relax catch you guys up on the weekend fun (while watching the help on showtime ;) I hope you guys are having a great weekend.  I am going to grab some lunch.

family dinner gender reveal.

 Okay so this weekend we drove up to the cities (twin cities) to have a gender reveal for my side of the family.  After a long day calling all over the place I finally found someone who I could order cake pops from.  I didn't want to make them go through all the steps of making them myself here and try to get them 3 hours away to the cities in one piece.  I ordered from Kendras cakes and creations I wanted them to be very neutral on the outside and they were to be blue on the inside.  She did a great job and they weren't the kind that were just cake inside they had the frosting mixed in so they were not only adorable but delicious.  I loved it.  I had lunch with a few of the knit gurus and shared the news with them then headed back to the family.

 Before dinner everyone ate their pop and found out it was a BOY.

we ordered a big dinner from gesippes and chowed down and then sat around doing nothing at family dinner like always lol  Here is my sister melissa screwing around with her phone.  (I am not 100% sure she will ever know fully how to work it lol)

this one doesn't look like much but calvin is inside the box.   Him and Fire monster played in that box all day.  They had holes poked out for eyes and ran around all day playing in the box (under the watchful eye of zoey the mother hen Weimaraner of coarse)

So there we have it the family knows and I have started planing and purchasing and making things.  I will share as things go but I wanted to make sure and share the rest of this story.  I finally have a day with no kids Even though we had another day of this yesterday..

They did not cancel school for once which is fabulous because fire monster has her field trip today and it has already been canceled once! So she gets to have a fun day and  I can take some pics and throw up some posts as well as bake and try to work on my little boys room and get mine cleaned up a bit, finish my book, swing over to the library and pic up the book I have put on hold that finally came in and start a new knitting project for the baby..  :)  (I have big plans we will see how far they get me lol)  Have a good day guys.

Monkey butts big surprise on video!!

This was a super big busy weekend.  It started with my hubby having 4 tumors removed Friday.  They were noncancerous but they will of coarse send them in for testing. From there we went up to minneapolis to go to the holidazzle parade with my family

Its a super fun parade at night where there is Christmas lights on everything.  These light bulbs are some of my favs.

 Here is me and the girls enjoying our selves.  Sometimes this is just miserable and like 30 below out but it was pretty nice friday.

 These little light up things last ages.  We have bought them there in the past and they make it to 4th of july all the little holiday festivals even sometimes back to holidazzle the next year lol.

Then my sister graduated so we got up and went to Mankato to see her ceremony.  Calvin thought it was soo funny to say he was graduating and wear her hat.

 Then came another big thing on our way home ...

  after much begging for months my hubby gave in and decided we could get the girls a kitten for Christmas.  We didn't tell them we just started searching around in the paper and what not and found some 9 week old kittens that had been abandoned by their mother and this lady had bottle fed them and kept then alive.  So we swung by and picked one out!!! 

 This little guy was soo sweet.  He is grey with just a bit of white and has just a tiny bit of white on the tip of his tail.  Also all his whiskers broke off and are growing back so he has just stubby little whiskers.  Fire monster decided that should be his name.  So whiskers it was.

Monkey butt was at her dads so this was all a surprise.  As her and Benji pulled up I put the little guy in a box and let her open it!  I taped it for you guys. ;)

We are all in love and even naughty seems to be coming around

crazy socks

As a knitter sometimes your knit gifts and hard work aren't appreciated. Well that is not the case with my nephew Calvin and his hand knit socks. He LOVES hand knit socks. He calls them his crazy socks and they are the ones he wears first as soon as they are clean. With having him for the last week I couldn't help but notice that a pair of his crazy socks were getting too small so I made him a deal. I would knit him a new pair if he would give up the pair that was too small and he was okay with that as long as they were going to fire monster :)

So we went through my patterns and picked one he liked and I had enough of the second skein of my happy feet sock yarn to make the big man a pair. I also took the time to make the Cat Bordhi foot print so that I don't have to guess (even though him and monkey butts feet are always pretty close)

The pattern is inlaid pennants. It has sort of triangles going back and forth. They were fast and fun and the big man loved them.

His mom (my big sis/fire monsters orange auntie as she calls her) came to get him and stayed for a few nights and there was lots of cool crafting she brought lots of jewelry and she left some of her stuff for sale at the yarn shop. She recently bought a doming block. and I got to try that I will have to show you mine next post :) Here is my favorite she did :)

It is a double viking weave necklace made out of different shades of pink wire and has this cool domed charm..

it says fight like a girl :) I also got to have my sister and mean down for one night and it was super nice to have them over and spend a bit of time and my brother in law for one night. Today it was just us and that was nice too. It was a pretty quiet day and I think after all the craziness I am going to curl up and hid in my house for a few days and enjoy being back on track and seeing as it is supposed to snow for the next few days I think it will be great. :) well I am off to bed with my hubby I hope you all had a great weekend and had as much fun with your family as I did. :)

my sisters house

So here is my sisters house and how much snow we had the week of Christmas (it is really insane) lol but i wanted to share with you the thing there that makes me crazy jealous...her girl cave

Here is one wall the blue part of the wall is magnetic and that is a counter height work bench the length of the wall. When she designed the work bench she made it to double as a guest bed but with everything all set up on it, it is easier to sleep on Calvins bottom bunk. There are magnetic tool holders on the right wall. The cubbies in the back are full of mostly jewelery making materials right now that she uses for her etsy, but there are some scrapbooking things and random stuff thrown in I am sure. The flat screen tv is hooked to a roku so we can watch netflix too.

The next pic is her computer desk area which has magnetic wall also and a cute lamp and there is a giant shelf with square cubbies from ikea for books and various craft goodies. Inside the closet is painted yellow. What she is sitting at in this picture is a flip down sewing table!!! It flips down to sew on and then you flip it up clip it up and it looks like a peice of art hanging on the wall. This makes me crazy jealous i love it tooo much.

Well i spent about ten hours at Mall of America today and am exhausted I need to watch trashy tv and zone out while drinking tons of ice water to settle my stomach from all the crud i ate. Night guys

monkey butts 7th bday

As promised here is the finished product of the curl formers. :)

Doesn't monkey butt look so cute. They were very easy and they turned out perfect in the morning. I will be doing it allot I have a feeling. Well here is the scoop on the party...

First they split into teams and decorated boxes as spaceships.

Then we went down the hill and they had to race them as teams. This part was hilarious.

the girls were 3 to a box for a long time and just tripped over each other and rolled around lol. It was a riot.

Here they are eating cupcakes and Calvin being silly what a character. He is soo silly. This morning we had a lazy day and I finished these for monkey butt.

They are made out of maizy and they are soo soft and cozy. She has been telling me that things are too "itchy" so these are great for little mrs itchy.

The pattern is black rose from knitty. It is sorta hard to tell on her little feet but the pattern goes up either side. On adult size it is extra pretty. Well I am off to finish muffins for my sweet hubby's birthday tomorrow and finish the movie sound of music with the girls. My girls have a unnatural obsession with older musicals. Night everybody
